John Southard grew up in the beautiful city of Albuquerque, NM where he was influenced by the abundance of Native American art and the galleries in and around Old Town.  He later attended the University of New Mexico where he studied Mathematics.  John makes his jewelry out a studio set up in his rather warm garage in Round Rock, TX a suburb of Austin, TX.

John Picked up the hobby of jewelry making late in life and is pretty much self-taught.  He has been growing his skills over the past year by attending lampworking classes, wire wrapping classes, and jewelry making classes in Austin.  John's influences include such artists as Lilly Barrack, Sharilyn Miller and other artists from Albuquerque.
